[WIP] Ornaments is a Max 4 Live device that provides live harmonic ornamentation to an input signal by combining FluCoMa’s batch-processing and live-analysis possibilities. 

In real-time, fractions of an incoming audio signal are analysed and compared to fractions of a pre-analysed corpus of sound (i.e a sample folder) to obtain a closest ‘match’. This match is then played as an additional, harmonic artefact of the incoming audio signal.

For this project, the ‘Chroma’ audio-descriptor is pivotal. Chroma is an audio analysis that models the composition of pitch classes in a sound derived through an FFT. 

The result is a simple to setup framework that lets you pick any sample folder as your source material for harmonic ornamentation. Once setup, an intuitive interface provides all necessary parameters to adjust to your taste.
